About San Diego Youth Mariachi
Our History
San Diego Youth Jazz Orchestra began in August of 2022.
With no experience in the music of mariachi, these young musicians have a major interest for this style of music.
Students come from several cities within San Diego County each week for a one hour rehearsal.
Students learn the beautiful rich culture of Mexico while learning the various styles of mariachi music and how it has spread throughout the entire world.
Our mariachi group will be recording our first Christmas song book arranged and directed by Robert Resto.
Its probably the first of any kind of a mariachi Christmas song book out there.
Coming summer of 2024.
